In 1939, the Creamery building was opened as a cooperative creamery by the North Fork Creamery Association.
Our renovation brings the building back as a cooperative space of another sort. The Creamery Arts Center opened after extensive renovation on May 12, 2006 as an artisans’ cooperative.
The Creamery Arts Center offers a unique cultural experience that unifies our community. As a premiere art center, the Creamery provides gallery space featuring over 50 local artists who display and sell their work. We also offer classroom space where highly qualified instructors teach classes in a variety of mediums. As a Colorado non-profit organization we depend greatly on support from our community and membership.
Our Education Program is at the heart of our mission. Our goal is to offer classes to students of all ages at reasonable prices. We are proud of our fully equipped clay studio that is on par with any in the State and we reach out to the senior citizens in our County with free demonstrations and hands-on activities taught by our volunteer artist members. Our “After School Art” and “Summer Art Camp” programs offer stimulating art and clay classes to children ages 6 and up, year round.
We support our local agriculture by offering a Saturday Farmers Market, welcoming local growers and crafters to sell their products in our outdoor pavilion at no charge.
We welcome members of the community who would like to volunteer their time on a regular basis. To get started just drop in and inquire at the front desk.
AND YES, WE DO SELL ICE CREAM!
