Wine and Art Parties:  Join us for this fun new class, the 2nd and 4th Thursdays each month. “ReCreate” with friends while exploring a variety of art projects. Price varies by project.

The Creamery Glass Shop:  Our glass shop is now open Mon. ~ Wed. for open studio time. Only $5/hr./plus materials. If you need instruction come to one of Linda McVehil’s fused glass or stained glass classes, they are held on Saturdays.

Beginning Stained GlassSat. April 27th from 9am~3pm. Copper foil technique. Make a panel: $60/ plus materials.

Fused Glass Basics:   Sat. May 11th, 9~noon or Noon~3pm. Students will complete several pieces. $20/ plus materials.

 
Fat Cat Pottery is comin to the Creamery!:   Tues. April 30, 9:30-12:30. Paint a 13″peacock platter. $45.90 total cost. See a sample of this amazing project on display in the gallery. Reservation and $5 deposit is required.

Tile Class with Pete Halladay:    Coming in June. Learn how to make handmade tiles from slabs and also how to decorate pre-made tiles. Do you have a home improvement project in mind… maybe a tile backsplash, table top, or counter top?

Beginning crochet with GayleThursday, November 15, 29, December 6.   Learn the basic to intermediate crochet stitches and how to turn them into a project.  $30 plus $5 materials.

Adult Clay – Wednesdays – explore the clay studio with David Strong

Master potter David Strong provides instruction and advise in his drop-in clay classes.  David will be available for beginners to advanced students to learn clay and glazing techniques in both both hand build and wheel.  1p-3p and  6p-8p   $18/session or  $50 for 4 sessions

Fiber    Fiber classes for teens and adults.  Thursdays, October 18th , 25rd and November 1st, 1p-3p, Gayle Smith will share how to make Coiled Baskets using yarn, fabric and found objects.  $35 plus materials for all 3 sessions. You must call 872-4848 before October 12th to reserve your seat.

Introduction to Photoshop and Elements with Jodeen Stephenson   You have some great images, learn how to prepare them to share your vision with others. Learn to use some basic editing tools to make your images sing. Bring a laptop computer with PhotoShop or Elements installed, along with some favorite images you want to work on.  Sat Aug 25th 10:00-3:30  Class fee $45

Summer Clay – Wednesdays -explore the clay studio with David Strong.  Instruction in both hand build and wheel techniques.  Bring your imagination and learn from start to finish with a master potter.   Drop-In   $25 per 25lbs of clay         Kids 1p-3p $9                Adults  1p-4p  $15          Adults 6p-8p  $15

Alcohol Ink with Carol Ann – January 21st 1pm-4pm – Learn to paint using alcohol ink. $45 plus $15 materials fee or purchase a kit for $55.

Beading with Nancy (CANCELLED) – Saturday, November 12th, 1p-4p Ages 15+. An exciting new class for (beginner) beaders. Learn basic bead & stringing techniques to complete a one-of-a kind necklace. Plan your design using a bead board and create patterns using different colors and bead types. Learn about, stringing materials, bead definitions, colors and much more! Kits included in price, all other beading tools will available. Bring your creative juices for a fun-filled afternoon & leave with your new finished masterpiece! A great Christmas gift! Refreshments will be furnished. $45

Stained Glass: Introduction to stained glass technique – November 12, 19, 26 + December 3, 10, 17,1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Ages 16 +. Learn this beautiful, light filled art form in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. The instructor has over 20 years of experience teaching and creating with glass. Everyone will create at least 2 projects, suitable for gift giving, using traditional lead channel and copper foil techniques. $80 Tools provided, Materials extra.

Swing 1 : Introduction to Six Count Swing Dance – Wednesday nights, November 16, 30, 7, 14 , 7:00 – 8:15pm  Ages 12+ , Learn the basics of swing dance in a fun, friendly, and completely accepting atmosphere. No partner necessary: everyone will rotate to facilitate inclusion and learning quickly and easily. Wear shoes that slide and bring a water bottle. Good exercise, and great for the spirit! $45 for 4 weeks / $80 for 1 Lead and 1 Follow couple / $12 drop in

ADULT CLASSES

Experimental Collage with Susan Stanton – Saturday, April 28, 12-4pm. Invent, explore, expand as you layer your ideas through the creative process. Embrace multiple materials and found objects while learning more about composition and design. Get ready for four fun filled hours of play! Inspiration and materials are provided but feel free to bring your own materials and treasures with you. Beginning & intermediate levels, ages 12+. $35 or $45 for 1 parent & child.

Adult Classes May 2011

NEW ART CLASSES FOR SPRING

Along with our last Saturday of the month FUSED GLASS CLASSES 11am-3pm and Wednesday DROP-IN CLAY CLASSES 1pm-3pm and 6pm-8pm, many new art classes will be offered at the Creamery this spring. Kids After School Program continues through May 26th.

Alcohol Inks Workshop May 7th 1pm-4pm $45
Creamery member – Carol Ann Rasmussen will be sharing her accomplishments with ALCOHOL INKS on May 7th from 1-4pm in the classroom. A pioneer in this art form Carol Ann will help you create fanciful forms based on nature, surreal landscapes, and botanicals. Alcohol Ink paintings reveal jewel-like colors of high intensity. You will have the opportunity to experiment with this process under the direction of CarolAnn.

Linoleum Block Printing May 21st 1pm-4pm $50
Master Potter and Creamery member Pete Halladay will be teaching a workshop in LINOLIUM BLOCK PRINTING on May 21 from 1-4pm in the classroom. Make a print from a thick piece of linoleum with the help of demonstration and example. Students will create a series of prints and receive further instruction in additional applications for the relief block they create. A lino-knife, carving block, paper and ink are provided.

Throwing Pots with Texture May 21st 1pm-4pm $40 $10 to observe
Grand Junction potter and Creamery member Ron Cloyd offers a two-session course in advanced throwing, glazing and raku techniques on May 21 in the clay studio. Students will learn how to throw heavily textured pieces on the wheel. This class is geared toward intermediate-advanced potters, however we welcome beginners to come to observe.

Firing Pottery with Ferric Chloride
The second class will be firing with ferric chloride in aluminum foil saggars in late June or early July. This class is for anyone, including sculptors. A short demo will be followed by students preparing Creamery Arts Center May 2011
their work to fire. Class participants must have pieces already bisque fired and ready to fire in the Creamery’s raku kiln.

Afternoon Clay with David Strong – Wed 1p-3p $14 per class plus $25 per 25lbs of clay

Clay Sculpture with Daphna Russell, Mondays April 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th 9am to 12pm . Prospective students can choose an introduction to working with clay in sculpture or may wish to come back for a tune up. Come play in the clay with Daphna. 4 sessions, 3 hours each, only $80.

Ceramic Drum Making with Michael McKenna Mondays and Thursdays April 4th- 28th 6pm-8pm. Create a hand built drum with coiling, slab and other techniques. Learn to stretch and attach a skin covering. Final class, April 28th will include a drum lesson. $100 plus $25 for materials and skins.

Stained Glass Lamp Shade with Chokecherry Studios
April 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th. This class will focus on the design and construction of stained glass panel lamps. Each student will design his/her own lampshade and build a panel lamp using construction techniques learned in the class. It would be helpful to the student to have some prior basic experience in working with stained glass in general. $80 + materials

Encaustic Painting Workshop with Dianna Fritzler
April 9th, 9a-5p You will learn, What encaustic painting is; Precautions for healthy encaustic painting; What materials you need to get started; Step-by-step procedures to make great encaustic paintings; Several various techniques including layering, stenciling, relief “painting”, mono prints and more You’ll walk away with AT LEAST two finished paintings! $135 materials included.

Last Saturday Open Studio Fused Glass with Peggy Papon
. April 30th 11:00am until 3:00 pm. Cost depends on material used and number of firings required but usually is about $20.
