Alcohol Inks Workshop May 7th 1pm-4pm $45
Creamery member – Carol Ann Rasmussen will be sharing her accomplishments with ALCOHOL INKS on May 7th from 1-4pm in the classroom. A pioneer in this art form Carol Ann will help you create fanciful forms based on nature, surreal landscapes, and botanicals. Alcohol Ink paintings reveal jewel-like colors of high intensity. You will have the opportunity to experiment with this process under the direction of CarolAnn.
Linoleum Block Printing May 21st 1pm-4pm $50
Master Potter and Creamery member Pete Halladay will be teaching a workshop in LINOLIUM BLOCK PRINTING on May 21 from 1-4pm in the classroom. Make a print from a thick piece of linoleum with the help of demonstration and example. Students will create a series of prints and receive further instruction in additional applications for the relief block they create. A lino-knife, carving block, paper and ink are provided.
Throwing Pots with Texture May 21st 1pm-4pm $40 $10 to observe
Grand Junction potter and Creamery member Ron Cloyd offers a two-session course in advanced throwing, glazing and raku techniques on May 21 in the clay studio. Students will learn how to throw heavily textured pieces on the wheel. This class is geared toward intermediate-advanced potters, however we welcome beginners to come to observe.
Firing Pottery with Ferric Chloride
The second class will be firing with ferric chloride in aluminum foil saggars in late June or early July. This class is for anyone, including sculptors. A short demo will be followed by students preparing Creamery Arts Center May 2011
their work to fire. Class participants must have pieces already bisque fired and ready to fire in the Creamery’s raku kiln.

Each student will design his/her own lampshade and build a panel lamp using construction techniques learned in the class. It would be helpful to the student to have some prior basic experience in working with stained glass in general. $80 + materials

Long Needle Basket Coiling with Elaine Kemming, 3 SESSIONS- WEDNESDAYS -FEBRUARY 2, 9, 16 11am – 12pm first class 1 ½ hours
COMPLETE A FINISHED BASKET. Learn ancient coiling techniques used 2000 years ago in Egypt. Navajo, Seminole, Ute and Snohomish are Native American tribes who still coil at the present day. Their items vary from threshing baskets up to three feet across to hats, purses, jewelry and just plain baskets. Styles and uses vary from coiler to coiler but the principle is still the same. No two items are the same; all are works of art.

Wednesday Afternoon Drop In Clay Class with David Strong – Wednesdays 1p-3p Get started in clay or get assistance in improving your wheel, hand building or glaze techniques. $50 for four session or $14 per class plus $25 per 25lbs of clay
Evening Clay with David Strong – Wednesday’s Jan 12th –Mar 16th 6pm–8pm , This 10 week class will cover basic techniques for beginning and intermediate students. $125 if paid in full, $14 per session plus $25 per 25lbs of clay
Beginning Stained Glass with Peggy Papon Thursdays, January 13th – February 17th 1pm – 4pm. Students will learn basic stained glass techniques and complete a stained glass project. $80 includes all materials.

Long Needle Basket Coiling with Elaine Kemming, 3 SESSIONS- WEDNESDAYS -FEBRUARY 2, 9, 16 11am – 12pm first class 1 ½ hours
COMPLETE A FINISHED BASKET. Learn ancient coiling techniques used 2000 years ago in Egypt. Navajo, Seminole, Ute and Snohomish are Native American tribes who still coil at the present day. Their items vary from threshing baskets up to three feet across to hats, purses, jewelry and just plain baskets. Styles and uses vary from coiler to coiler but the principle is still the same. No two items are the same; all are works of art.
$20 for all 3 classes plus $10 for the kit Bring scissors 10 to 15 students
