Mark your Calendar! Upcoming classes

Ceramic Drum Making with Michael McKenna Mondays and Thursdays April 4th- 28th 6pm-8pm. Create a hand built drum with coiling, slab and other techniques. Learn to stretch and attach a skin covering. Final class, April 28th will include a drum lesson. $100 plus $25 for materials and skins.

Stained Glass Lamp Shade with Chokecherry Studios Thursdays April 7th – 28th 1pm-3pm.
Create a beautiful Stained Glass Lamp Shade at our glass studio, for beginners and intermediate.

Encaustic Painting Workshop with Dianna Fritzler April 9th 9a-5p Learn several techniques
including layering, stenciling,relief “painting”, monoprints and more to paint multiple layers using
found objects, photographs and wax. $135 includes all materials.

Afternoon Clay with David Strong – Wed 1p-3p $14 per class plus $25 per 25lbs of clay
Portrait Sketching Workshop with Seth Weber March 5 10- 4 $35 plus $10 materials

Introduction to portrait sketching from a live model. Students will learn basics of facial planes, showing techniques, methods and measurements of facial features, type of sketching pencils.

Nature Journaling with Maria Hodkins March 15, 22, 29 1-3pm $50
Explore the artistic, scientific, and reflective pursuit of keeping a nature journal. This workshop will acquaint you with basic tools and techniques, and includes both classroom and outdoor instruction.

Fused Glass Class with Peggy Papon March 19 1-3 $20 Learn the basics of fused glass and create 3 pieces of glass jewelry.

Beginning Oil Painting with Barbara Churchley March 22, 29 April 12, 19 6-8pm $125 plus $50 materials Paint your winter blues away and get ready for the spring with a lively oil class. Barbara, an award winning artist, makes it easy for the beginner, supplying you with all you need to get started.

Advanced Oil Painting March 26 April 2 9 –4pm $150 Bring your own materials This is a great workshop for working oil painters. Learn new techniques for seeing a and painting light, shadow and values through still life setups

Beginning Pastel Drawing with Barbara Churchley Thursdays, March 24, 31, April 14, 21 6-8pm
$125 plus $50 materials. There is no better way to experience the fun and creative side of yourself than through pastels. Barbara will bring out the artist in you whether you like it or not.

Last Saturday Open Studio Fused Glass with Peggy Papon. Feb 26th 11:00am until 3:00 pm. Cost depends on material used and number of firings required but usually is about $20.

Afternoon Clay with David Strong – Wed 1p-3p $14 per class plus $25 per 25lbs of clay

Evening Clay with David Strong – Wednesday’s 6pm–8pm , call for dates. This 10 week class will cover basic techniques for beginning and intermediate students. $125 if paid in full, $14 per session plus $25 per 25lbs of clay

Adult Beginning Clay with Amber Kleinman 4 sessions Tuesdays Feb 1st – 22nd . 1p-3p. Learn the basics of hand building and basic wheelwork. $12 per session plus $25 for #25 of clay.

Long Needle Basket Coiling with Elaine Kemming Wednesdays Feb 2nd, 11a-12:30p, 9th & 16th 11-12p. Complete a finished basket. Learn ancient “long pine needle” coiling techniques perfected 2000 years ago in Egypt and still used today by Native American Tribes. $20 for all 3 session, plus $10 for the kit.

Sculpture and Introduction to Bronze Casting with Sam Small Saturdays Feb 5th – 26th 1p-5p. Learn basic sculpting techniques as well as armature building, mold making and introduction to the steps of bronze casting. The last class will held at the foundry. $100 plus ~$25 materials

Winter Nature Journaling Illustration & Bookbinding Workshop with Maria Hodkins Sat. Feb 19th 10a-3p (followed by 3 sessions in March). Make a handmade book – featuring winter with multimedia paper and decorative hand bound with Coptic stitch. $40 plus $25 materials.

Wednesday Afternoon Drop In Clay Class with David Strong – Wednesdays 1p-3p Get started in clay or get assistance in improving your wheel, hand building or glaze techniques. $50 for four session or $14 per class plus $25 per 25lbs of clay

Evening Clay with David Strong – Wednesday’s Jan 12th –Mar 16th 6pm–8pm , This 10 week class will cover basic techniques for beginning and intermediate students. $125 if paid in full, $14 per session plus $25 per 25lbs of clay

Beginning Stained Glass with Peggy Papon Thursdays, January 13th – February 17th 1pm – 4pm. Students will learn basic stained glass techniques and complete a stained glass project. $80 includes all materials.

Beginning Fused Glass with Peggy Papon Saturday, January 15th 1p-3p $20 Last Saturday Open Studio Fused Glass with Peggy Papon. 11:00am until 3:00 pm. Cost depends on material used and number of firings required but usually is about $20.

$12 PER SESSION

Long Needle Basket Coiling with Elaine Kemming, 3 SESSIONS- WEDNESDAYS -FEBRUARY 2, 9, 16 11am – 12pm first class 1 ½ hours
COMPLETE A FINISHED BASKET. Learn ancient coiling techniques used 2000 years ago in Egypt. Navajo, Seminole, Ute and Snohomish are Native American tribes who still coil at the present day. Their items vary from threshing baskets up to three feet across to hats, purses, jewelry and just plain baskets. Styles and uses vary from coiler to coiler but the principle is still the same. No two items are the same; all are works of art.
$20 for all 3 classes plus $10 for the kit Bring scissors 10 to 15 students

Silk Screening with Bob Noonan, Saturdays Nov 9th 2pm – 5pm and Nov 13th 9a-?.
$60 includes a reusable kit.

Gyotaku (pronounced gheo-ta-ku) also known as fish printing Nov 12th 10-1. $20 (fish will be provided or you can bring your own.)

Basic Introduction to Photoshop with Jodeen Stephenson —-July 24th 10am-2pm Cost is $30, bring your camera and a laptop if you have one.

Sculpture with Daphna Russell—-Wednesday’s starting July 28th and running through August 18th , 9am-12pm. This class will conclude with a potluck and a Raku firing. Cost is $80 +$25 clay and glaze fee. Class size is limited, please register early if you want a spot!

This is a 6 week class that will cover basic techniques.

Fine Art Photo Printing with Jodeen Stephenson- June 5th 10a-4pm $50 + $20 material charge if you wish to do your own print.
Express Yourself in Pen & Ink with Watercolor Washes with David Delo –June 12, 1pm-4:00pm
Cost is $25. Learn how to capture precious images and fleeting moments regardless of where you are. One on one instruction plus tips on materials and techniques.
Culinary Herbs –Growing and using Them with Joy Beeson – June 26th 2p-4p $15 Learn to grow and cook with herbs. Recipes will be shared.
Arts and Crafts Style Stained Glass Window Panels with Peggy Papon – June 10, 11& 12 1p-4pm. Cost is $60 plus material. Learn to do a Frank Lloyd style window panel to brighten up your house.

Adult and Teen Classes May 2010

Sculpture with Daphne Russell. May 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 23rd, 11am-2pm.

Cost is $120+$25 clay and glaze fee. Class size is limited to 10 students, ages 16 and up, younger than
16 need to be interviewed by Daphne. Learn sculpture from a nationally known sculptor. You will
produce at least one finished sculpture while learning basic design principles in art. Beginners are
welcome to work alongside professionals.

Know Your Digital Camera taught by Jodeen Stephenson. May 1 12pm-3pm $25 Age 12 and up,
bring your camera

Basic Introduction to Photo Shop – taught by Jodeen Stephenson. May 2210am-2pm with a lunch
break. $30, bring your camera and a laptop if you have one.

Flower Pressing Class – taught by Jackie Slater. May 15th , 22nd, and 29th – 10am-12pm. $60 +
materials. 1st class is a field trip to collect flowers and placing them into the flower press. 2nd class is
opening the presses and deciding what to do with your flowers. 3rd class is designing, matting and
finishing your pieces.

Fused Glass Garden Ornaments – taught by Peggy Papon May 22, 12-2pm $20 + materials. Make
something to brighten up your garden and put a smile on your neighbors face!

Last Saturday Fused Glass- taught by Peggy Papon May 29th Drop in anytime between 11am and
3pm and make a fused glass project. $20 plus materials

Introductory Raku Class – taught by David Strong Saturday May15th, 9:30am-12pm and Wed May
19th 6:30pm-9:30pm. $45 + $5 material fee. Learn to make & fire pottery in the exciting raku process.
Create, have fun – no previous clay experience required.

Mastering Your Skills in Clay – taught by David Strong – Wednesday Afternoons 1pm-3pm 15 per
class or $56 for 4 classes This class is designed for students who already have some experience with
the potter’s wheel and hand forming.

All Students enrolled in a clay class are entitled to free studio time, during Creamery business hours,
for the duration of the class.
